Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) are designed to help treat individuals who are dealing with substance abuse and mental health issues by providing a wide range of services including crisis mental health services, psychiatric rehab, as well as counseling and treatment for co-occurring health issues. CCBHCs were created by the Protecting Access to Medicare Act (PAMA), and is a two-year, eight-state initiative designed to expand access to mental health and addiction treatment. Currently, CCBHCs are limited to the following states: Minnesota, Missouri, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon and Pennsylvania.
