Colin Banas is an Internal Medicine Hospitalist and the former Chief Medical Information Officer for VCU Health System in Richmond, VA. He is proud to have testified before the U.S. Senate and the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) on the topic of Health IT and the Meaningful Use Program and is a former Health IT Fellow for the ONC. His interests center the role of big-data and analytics on patient outcomes and on novel forms of Clinical Decision Support, those that are outside of the realm of traditional rules and alerts, and include real-time dashboarding and intuitive usability designs. In 2017 Dr. Banas was humbled to receive the HIMSS-AMDIS award for Physician Executive of the Year from his peers.
Heidi Polek, RPh, MBA

Heidi Polek is a registered pharmacist with more than 30 years of experience, including extensive community pharmacy work managing patient care plans, administering immunizations, and working closely with practitioners on patient care initiatives. As a Regional Pharmacy Manager for a local pharmacy chain, Heidi developed and implemented a companywide pharmacist-based immunization program, and spearheaded the addition of MTM services for pharmacy patients. She is a past board member of the Pharmacists Association of Western New York and has actively participated in multiple committees of the Maryland Pharmacist Association. She is passionate about arming the healthcare industry with new technologies that can assist them in evolving their business models and optimizing patient outcomes.
