Matt Hoffman is a managing partner of Afia, a healthcare consulting firm based out of Ann Arbor, MI. Afia specializes in helping behavioral health and social service agencies optimize their EHRs, IT infrastructure, financial strategy, clinical services, and data-driven decision making. Over the past decade with Afia, Matt has worked with dozens of agencies across the country to develop strategies and implement solutions to improve clinical outcomes, deliver complex projects, and position themselves for the future of healthcare.
Director of IT
Art started as the low man on the IT totem pole at LifeSkills, a CMHC in Kentucky, with a Computer Business degree from Western Kentucky University. Now, with 15 years of experience providing IT support and driving and developing many IT solutions, Art worked his way to become the director of IT at LifeSkills. He has seen “cutting edge” technology come and go, best practices evolve, and EHR software change drastically over that time. This journey has led to solutions that would have seemed counter-intuitive in the past and the perspective to value the need for a holistic vision of how an EHR can drive and adapt to all of the different pieces that make a CMHC successful in our ever-changing environments.
Scott Bell began his career in Behavioral Health with LifeSkills, Inc. in 1998 with an entry-level job working in residential substance abuse and addiction treatment. He left in 2000 to work in Nashville with multiple addiction providers and in 2002 worked on his first electronic health record selection and implementation. In 2003 he left the clinical side of the house and became an EMR Administrator. In 2005 he was tasked with the selection and implementation of another EMR with the same provider. In 2007, Scott left the provider side and went to work for an EMR vendor. During this time he worked as an installation specialist, a business analyst and a project manager.
In 2010 he returned to LifeSkills, Inc. and worked as a HIPAA privacy and security officer as well as the corporate compliance officer. In 2016 Scott worked with the developmental, clinical, billing and IT departments to select an EMR that would replace the EMR that LifeSkills, Inc. had used for 15 years. In 2017 Scott returned to the IT side of the house as the EHR administrator for LifeSkills, Inc. and is responsible for the implementation of CareLogic.
Senior Director of Operations
Robert Patton serves as the Senior Director of Operations at Qualifacts overseeing all client facing activities, including implementation, customer service and the solution center.
Joining Qualifacts in 2005, Robert has served the company through a number of roles. Bringing over 20 years of information technology (IT) experience, his proven track record of success includes leading Qualifacts in the development of the industry’s shortest electronic health record (EHR) implementation timeline.
Prior to Qualifacts, Robert was a manager with Accenture, where he worked with Fortune 100 clients to implement enterprise software systems, such as SAP and PeopleSoft. He also worked with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in the implementation of state Medicaid and with IBM toward the development of educational products.
Robert graduated with a degree in Management Information Systems from Auburn University.
