CHALLENGE
Seeking to elevate its documentation and claims processing from paper to digital, Jewish Family Services of Greater Hartford (JFSGH) wanted a next generation, integrated EHR platform that clinical and administrative staff could use to track treatment, provide insights into outcomes, support accurate and timely billing, and guide data-driven decision making. Prior experiences included unreliable uptime and a lack of customer support from one vendor, and vaporware promises from another, and a hybrid paper and digital approach.
SOLUTION
When JFSGH chose the CareLogic EHR for its clinical, billing and reporting capabilities, the agency sought a partnership and support it could count on, in addition to industry leading clinical capabilities and tools for reporting and claims processing. The choice was supported by references in the JFS network, and state users.
REMOTE GOLIVE SUCCESS AND TELEHEALTH SERVICE DELIVERY SUCCESS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
“The paperless aspect of using CareLogic for clinical, billing, and reporting became much more relevant, as we went live about six weeks after everyone switched to work from home,” said Andrea Sereny, Practice Manager for JFSGH. “Going live during the pandemic proved the value of going fully without paper, for clients and for staff.”
“Having the CareLogic EHR be available from any location satisfied a new and urgent need for JFSGH when services switched from in person to remote,” said Robert Patton, Qualifacts VP of Implementation Services. “That was an unexpected benefit of their selection of CareLogic.”
“We continue to support our customers through their use of CareLogic with their staff and clients working remotely, through our cloud-based capabilities, and our own adaptation to current circumstances,” said Mary Hatcher, Qualifacts VP of Product.
CLINICAL DOCUMENTATION AND ERX SUCCESS
“CareLogic has helped us simplify our documentation, from doing Treatment Plans on paper and tracking updates and reviews with a paper calendar,” Sereny said. “Having DrFirst integrated into CareLogic is better than when we used it as a standalone application, for saving time and efficiency.”
REIMBURSEMENT AND BILLING EFFICIENCY
“We have had billing challenges with coding for telehealth for the state and for federal reimbursement, and it has been so helpful to have the CareLogic community to share information,” Sereny said. “The Connecticut User Group CT is active, and it has been a great resource for us.”
COMPLIANCE, REPORTING AND ANALYTICS SUCCESS
“CareLogic supports us in state and federal compliance, and in tracking clients through multiple programs,” Sereny said. “We have consolidated our efforts, and gained more detailed reporting and more productivity. We can report on demographics and grants in more meaningful ways.
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
“We plan to expand CareLogic into more of our programs over time, including The Anja Rosenberg Kosher Food Pantry, which is a critical service that we continue to offer the community during the global pandemic,” Sereny said. The pantry serves all people regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, disability, gender or sexual orientation, distributing over 90,000 pounds of food, toiletries and cleaning supplies each year to local residents within the Greater Hartford area, during temporary or long-term times of need.
