NASHVILLE, TN
Family Services of Westchester, a provider of comprehensive behavioral health services in Westchester NY announced today a strategic partnership with Qualifacts, a leading provider of electronic health records (EHR) for Behavioral Health and Human services providers, to enhance outcomes and patient care by furthering collaboration across healthcare providers in New York State.
By connecting with HealthlinkNY, a Health Information Exchange (HIE), the agency will have more knowledge of the care a client receives beyond its doors. “Our clinicians will be able to provide better care by giving them a broader view of the client’s medical history, including insights into care provided by family practitioners in the community,” said Krister Willgren, Clinical Director at Family Services of Westchester.
HealthlinkNY is one of the largest Health Information Exchanges (HIE) in New York State, and enables providers across various physician practice groups, hospitals and health systems to share patient information with the aim of achieving better outcomes while taking unnecessary costs out of the system.
Organizations and their electronic health records connected to HealthlinkNY can also share data with entities connected to other HIE networks, including the Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY), Rochester Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO), Bronx RHIO, Healthix, HealtheConnections and HEALTHeLINK.
Given the increased need to deliver care more efficiently and effectively, more providers are turning to their EHR vendor for help connecting to regional and national Health Information Exchange (HIE) registries. Some HIE platforms even offer subsidies that help pay for the integration work. Currently, HealthlinkNY offers providers a $13,000 grant to participate, and does not charge any membership fees to participate.
“We’re proud to help providers at Family Services of Westchester and other clients get the insights they need to deliver quality care with our CareLogic electronic health record (EHR) platform that integrates directly with HealthlinkNY,” said Todd Charest, Chief Product Officer at Qualifacts. “With the increasing emphasis on value-based care, interoperability has never been more important for providers and EHR vendors and I expect that the rate of HIE adoption will only accelerate.”
