Qualifacts Launches CareLogic Mobile™ to Address the Challenges of Delivering Community-Based Behavioral Healthcare
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — May 14, 2019 — Qualifacts® today announced the launch of CareLogic Mobile™, an offline-compatible module of the CareLogic® electronic health record (EHR). CareLogic Mobile is designed to help behavioral healthcare providers address the widespread barriers associated with delivering community-based care. As the demand for behavioral healthcare continues to increase, more providers are extending the reach of their support by assisting individuals on-site in schools, prisons, foster homes and hospitals.
CareLogic Mobile addresses the critical challenges that behavioral healthcare workers face when delivering care outside of their facility – especially in areas without cellphone coverage or Wi-Fi access. Instead of waiting to document care after hours, providers can use CareLogic Mobile to access important client information and document care offline. Using CareLogic Mobile’s proprietary SureSync™ technology, all updates and changes accurately and securely update CareLogic when an internet connection becomes available.
Three unique aspects that set CareLogic Mobile apart are the workflow of the solution, the innovative partnership with Kony Quantum and the solution’s unique GPS technology.
To develop the most user-centric experience, Qualifacts leveraged the expertise of MTM Services, a comprehensive consulting firm specializing in helping providers prepare for change. “When Qualifacts reached out to us to help develop the workflow for CareLogic Mobile, we were excited to be part of something truly transformational for behavioral healthcare,” said Scott C. Lloyd, President, Senior SPQM Data Consultant at MTM Services. “We believe the simple, clean user-focused workflows in CareLogic Mobile will help to increase the efficiency of providers’ mobile field workforces and help them extend care in their communities.”
The second unique aspect of CareLogic Mobile is the innovative partnership with Kony. “What sets CareLogic Mobile apart is our unique collaboration with Kony which enables us to essentially ‘future-proof’ our mobile capabilities and protect our customers’ investment in CareLogic,” said Tom Keen, Qualifacts’ Chief Technology Officer. “We built our mobile solution on the Kony Quantum application development platform which is the industry’s leading framework for mobile-based software.” Kony Quantum allows development teams to focus on building one solution and manages the process of ensuring it is compatible with various mobile devices and operating systems.
“We are excited to partner with Qualifacts as they continue to accelerate the pace of innovation in behavioral healthcare,” said Burley Kawasaki, Executive Vice President of Products at Kony, Inc. “Kony is committed to enabling leading-edge digital features that allow the CareLogic app to evolve rapidly. Given the complexity of behavioral healthcare delivery, Qualifacts’ clients need a flexible, powerful and secure mobile-first solution. Kony Quantum supports Qualifacts’ unique requirements to deliver a highly configurable low-code solution and will enable their digital innovation without limits.”
EVV Compliant Technology
The final differentiated aspect of CareLogic Mobile is the embedded GPS location technology enabled by the Kony Quantum platform. Precise GPS data allows the CareLogic app to report the exact location and time data to quantify the location of where and when services are provided. These key features are designed to support the six federal requirements for Electronic Visit Verification (EVV). With EVV becoming mandatory for many Medicaid PCS services in 2020 or earlier, it will be critical for providers of these services to leverage technology that supports these requirements.
Leading up to the launch of CareLogic’s general availability, several customers participated in a beta program to help inform the development process. One customer leveraged CareLogic Mobile as part of their mission to extend access to care in the communities they serve. “Using CareLogic Mobile, our providers experienced a dramatic decline in after-hours documentation. Instead of having to rely on memory or paper-based notes, they were able to seamlessly document care in the field regardless of an internet connection,” said Amanda Shrum, ECR Support Services Supervisor at Options Counseling and Family Services. “CareLogic Mobile is a tremendous tool to help us boost productivity.”
